Details

Shizukuishi Ski resort is well known for its off piste runs and powder snow. The snow is dry and powdery with regular snow falls from December through until March.

There are two sides to the Shizukuishi ski resort. The small prince side (Tatakura Side) is mostly for beginner and intermediate riders, whilst the large side (Mt Kotakakura) has intermediate runs and a few black runs.

Shizukuishi is a medium sized resort with some great powder snow, tree runs and powder skiing, offering a great variety of terrain for beginners, intermediates and advanced riders and features two terrain parks.

Shizukuishi is normally open from 8:30am until 6:30pm on weekdays and 8:30am until 8pm on weekends with night skiing commencing at 4:30pm. The resort features a vertical terrain of 702 metres, with the resort mainly being a skier's paradise.

The resort has 11 courses and dedicates 40% to beginners, 40% to intermediates and 20% to advanced skiers and boarders. The longest course at Shizukuishi is a leg bruning 4.5 kilometres and the steepest slope is 33 degrees.

Shizukuishi ski resort has one quad lift and 4 pair lifts to help you access its courses. The resort also features a 'Snow Land' which is a large area for children and includes snow tubing, sledding, sliders, snow striders, a practise area and much more. The park also has two terrain parks; the first  is the Easy Park - which is suited to intermediate and advanced riders and the Okochama Ski and Snobo Park.
