Rusutsu Resort is considered one of the best ski resorts in Hokkaido. It is a fantastic resort where the whole family can unwind and have fun in a safe and friendly environment. It has a large ski area that covers three mountains, each having a variety of long groomed runs with a heap of great powder and tree runs. The picturesque views from the courses of East Mt., West Mt. and Mt. Isola are breathtaking.

With 37 diverse groomed runs for beginners and intermediates, but the major drawcard to Rusutsu is for the powderhounds with fantastic fall line tree skiing that can be easily accessed straight off the lifts. Rustutsu is also a great place to introduce you to off piste powder skiing as there is no steep ditches and the entire resort is generally not very busy. With an average snowfall of over 14 metres a season, Rusutsu has some of the most incredible powder and tree skiing to be found anywhere in the world. Frequently the powder at Rusutsu is incredibly dry; you blast right through it with virtually no resistance.

The resort covers three mountains; East Mountain, West Mountain and Mt Isola. East Mountain can be accessed via gondola is the ideal spot for and intermediates to play. The West Mountain is comparatively smaller and is ideal the best spot for beginers as well as those who want to check out the terrain park Mt Isola is connected to East Mountain by a series of courses and is the best spot for tree skiing and exploring the powder.

Rusutsu caters perfectly for first time skiers and snowboarders, there is a purpose built The Salomon Debut Snow Park; a dedicated learning area that has a magic carpet and small slope at the base of the West Mountain, just short walk from Rusutsu Resort Hotel. Rusutsu is also fantastic for intermediates with plenty of fantastic long groomed runs. Intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders who want to learn how to ride powder will value will value the abundance of dry powder and off piste terrain that won’t be to challenging. You can find the best tree skiing and powder can be found between some of the chairlifts at Mt Isola.

Rusutsu Resort also offers a number of other attractions that appeal to everyone including dog sledding, snowmobiling, hot spring baths and many restaurants including the popular Cricket Pub sports bar. Rusutsu also caters relly well to children with a day care center and a kids park. Rusutsu is also a very  foreigner friendly ski resort with English speaking staff available.
